Die Musik von Quadro Nuevo strahlt die Lust am abenteuerreichen Leben aus. Jede Melodie erzählt davon. Jeder Ton gibt die tiefe Liebe zum Instrument weiter. Jede Reise prägt die extravagante Musizierkunst des Ensembles. In Buenos Aires schlug man sich Tango-Nächte um die Ohren. Auf den griechischen Inseln fanden die Virtuosen den magnetischen Song Erotiko. Dann segelten sie auf den Spuren uralter Mythen durch die Äolen, bestiegen in Island Lava speiende Vulkane und berauschten sich zuletzt in Brasilien mit Samba, Bossa und Chorinho.
Musik die glücklich macht!
Die Jugendfreunde Mulo Francel und Didi Lowka gründeten 1996 das Ensemble Quadro Nuevo. Unzählige Orte von Helsinki bis Hong Kong, vom Kaukasus bis in die New Yorker Carnegie Hall haben die abenteuerlustigen Künstler seither bereist.Durch ihre verwegene Musizierweise holten sie sich zweimal den ECHO, eine Goldene Schallplatte, den Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik und mehrere Jazz Awards. Mit dem extravagant-spielwitzigen Akkordeonisten Andreas Hinterseher und dem durch sinnliche Klangschönheit beeindruckenden jungen Gitarristen Philipp Schiepek leben sie ihre Musik im Hier und Jetzt. Dies erinnert an vier Burschen, die fröhlich musizierend über die südlichen Stadtplätze und Jahrmärkte zogen. So geschehen in den Anfängen von Quadro Nuevo.Hinzu kommt als Special Guest in Querceto Tim Collins aus New York am virtuos gespielten Vibraphon!
Später verbrachte man Zeiten in Buenos Aires und Rio de Janeiro, probte tagelang in der flirrenden Mittagshitze, schwärmte abends aus, stürzte sich kopfüber in die Szene, begleitete Tänzer, berauschte sich an schwerem Wein, Caipirinha und frischer Brazilian Music direkt von der Quelle. Heraus kam das neue Album HAPPY Deluxe. Von hier ausgehend brechen die Virtuosen auf in improvisatorisches Neuland, mal hoch schwingend in schwirrende Lüfte, mal abtauchend in mediterran glitzernde Meere, mal chillig versponnen in Tagträumen und Nachtschwärmerei. Quadro Nuevo erklärt diese klangliche Hommage an Glücksmomente: „Unsere Musik entsteht seit jeher aus Erlebnissen und Begegnungen. Die Fröhlichkeit und Freundlichkeit vieler Menschen in Brasilien faszinierte uns. Sie färbte unsere Lieder.
So entstand auch der Titel des Albums. Uns ist dabei durchaus bewusst, dass die alltägliche Lebenswelt vieler Menschen alles andere als unbeschwert ist. Trotzdem – oder gerade deshalb – darf auch in Zeiten von Krisen und Kriegen die Musik eine positive Gegenwelt anbieten.“
La musica dei Quadro Nuevo irradia la gioia di una vita avventurosa. Ogni melodia la racconta. Ogni nota trasmette il profondo amore per lo strumento. Ogni viaggio caratterizza la stravagante musicalità dell’ensemble. A Buenos Aires, le notti di tango sono state trascorse ballando tutta la notte. Nelle isole greche, i virtuosi hanno scoperto la magnetica canzone Erotiko. Poi hanno navigato attraverso le Eolie sulle orme di antichi miti, hanno scalato vulcani lavici in Islanda e infine si sono inebriati di samba, bossa e chorinho in Brasile.

Gli amici d’infanzia Mulo Francel e Didi Lowka hanno fondato l’ensemble Quadro Nuevo nel 1996. Da allora, gli avventurosi artisti hanno viaggiato in innumerevoli luoghi, da Helsinki a Hong Kong, dal Caucaso alla Carnegie Hall di New York. Il loro modo audace di fare musica è valso loro due premi ECHO, un disco d’oro, il German Record Critics’ Award e diversi premi jazz. Con lo stravagante e giocoso fisarmonicista Andreas Hinterseher e il giovane chitarrista Philipp Schiepek, che colpisce per la sua sensuale bellezza sonora, vivono la loro musica nel qui e ora. Questo ricorda quattro ragazzi che suonano allegramente nelle piazze e nelle fiere del sud. Questo è ciò che accadeva agli albori del Quadro Nuevo. L’ospite speciale di Querceto è Tim Collins di New York, virtuoso del vibrafono!
In seguito, hanno trascorso un periodo a Buenos Aires e Rio de Janeiro, hanno provato per giorni nel caldo scintillante di mezzogiorno, sono usciti la sera, si sono tuffati a capofitto nella scena, hanno accompagnato i ballerini, si sono inebriati di vino pesante, caipirinha e musica brasiliana fresca direttamente dalla fonte. Il risultato è stato il nuovo album HAPPY Deluxe. Da qui, i virtuosi si sono lanciati in nuovi territori di improvvisazione, a volte librandosi in cieli ronzanti, a volte tuffandosi in scintillanti mari mediterranei, a volte agghiacciando sogni ad occhi aperti e nottambuli. I Quadro Nuevo spiegano questo omaggio sonoro ai momenti di felicità: “La nostra musica è sempre nata da esperienze e incontri. Eravamo affascinati dall’allegria e dalla cordialità di molte persone in Brasile. Questo ha colorato le nostre canzoni.
È così che è nato il titolo dell’album. Sappiamo bene che la vita quotidiana di molte persone è tutt’altro che spensierata. Tuttavia – o proprio per questo – la musica può offrire un mondo alternativo positivo, anche in tempi di crisi e di guerra”.
La musique de Quadro Nuevo respire le goût de la vie aventureuse. Chaque mélodie en parle. Chaque note transmet l’amour profond de l’instrument. Chaque voyage marque l’art musical extravagant de l’ensemble. A Buenos Aires, les nuits de tango se sont enchaînées. Sur les îles grecques, les virtuoses ont trouvé la chanson magnétique Erotiko. Ils ont ensuite navigué sur les traces de mythes anciens à travers les îles Eoliennes, escaladé des volcans cracheurs de lave en Islande et se sont finalement enivrés de samba, de bossa et de chorinho au Brésil.

Les amis d’enfance Mulo Francel et Didi Lowka ont fondé l’ensemble Quadro Nuevo en 1996. Depuis, ces artistes aventureux ont voyagé dans d’innombrables endroits, d’Helsinki à Hong Kong, du Caucase au Carnegie Hall de New York. Leur style musical audacieux leur a permis de remporter deux fois l’ECHO, un disque d’or, le prix de la critique allemande du disque et plusieurs prix de jazz. Avec l’accordéoniste Andreas Hinterseher, au jeu extravagant, et le jeune guitariste Philipp Schiepek, impressionnant par sa beauté sonore sensuelle, ils vivent leur musique ici et maintenant. Cela rappelle les quatre garçons qui parcouraient les places des villes du sud et les foires en jouant joyeusement de la musique. C’est ce qui s’est passé aux débuts de Quadro Nuevo. En plus, Tim Collins de New York, l’invité spécial de Querceto, joue du vibraphone avec virtuosité !
Plus tard, ils ont passé du temps à Buenos Aires et à Rio de Janeiro, ont répété pendant des jours sous la chaleur de midi, se sont dispersés le soir, ont plongé tête baissée dans la scène, ont accompagné des danseurs, se sont enivrés de vin lourd, de caipirinha et de musique brésilienne fraîche directement à la source. Le résultat est le nouvel album HAPPY Deluxe. De là, les virtuoses partent vers de nouveaux territoires d’improvisation, tantôt en se balançant dans des airs tourbillonnants, tantôt en plongeant dans des mers méditerranéennes scintillantes, tantôt en se laissant aller à la rêverie et à la noctambule. Quadro Nuevo explique cet hommage sonore aux moments de bonheur : « Notre musique naît depuis toujours d’expériences et de rencontres. La gaieté et la gentillesse de nombreuses personnes au Brésil nous ont fascinés. Elle a coloré nos chansons.
C’est ainsi qu’est né le titre de l’album. Nous sommes tout à fait conscients que la vie quotidienne de nombreuses personnes est loin d’être insouciante. Malgré cela – ou justement pour cette raison – la musique peut offrir un contre-monde positif, même en temps de crise et de guerre ».

On the Greek islands, the virtuosos discovered the magnetic song Erotiko. Then they sailed through the Aeolian Islands in the footsteps of ancient myths, climbed lava-spewing volcanoes in Iceland and finally intoxicated themselves with samba, bossa and chorinho in Brazil.

Childhood friends Mulo Francel and Didi Lowka founded the ensemble Quadro Nuevo in 1996. Since then, the adventurous artists have travelled to countless places from Helsinki to Hong Kong, from the Caucasus to New York’s Carnegie Hall. Their daring way of making music has earned them two ECHO awards, a gold disc, the German Record Critics’ Award and several jazz awards. With the extravagant and playful accordionist Andreas Hinterseher and the young guitarist Philipp Schiepek, who impresses with his sensual beauty of sound, they live their music in the here and now. This is reminiscent of four lads happily playing music in the southern town squares and fairs. This is what happened in the early days of Quadro Nuevo. In addition, special guest Tim Collins from New York joins Querceto on the virtuoso vibraphone!

The result was the new album HAPPY Deluxe. From here, the virtuosos set off into new improvisational territory, sometimes soaring high into the buzzing skies, sometimes diving into glittering Mediterranean seas, sometimes chillingly spun in daydreams and night owls. Quadro Nuevo explains this sonic homage to moments of happiness: ‘Our music has always been created from experiences and encounters. We were fascinated by the cheerfulness and friendliness of many people in Brazil. It coloured our songs.
That’s how the title of the album came about. We are well aware that the everyday lives of many people are anything but carefree. Nevertheless – or precisely because of this – music can offer a positive alternative world, even in times of crisis and war.’
