Amsterdam – Splendori

coproduction Marco Polo, Art connects People, Musicians Without Borders

Musians from the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, Splendor and friends

This benefit event will support Musicians Without Borders’ Welcome Notes Europe program, which trains musicians to use music as a tool to support refugees and asylum seekers. Proceeds will specifically benefit Welcome Notes training and workshops in Italy, in cooperation with local organizations.

Music has the unique capacity to build empathy, connection and hope, which are critical factors of resilience for people who have experienced the traumatic effects of war. Music provides a safe space for expression, connects people and supports cultural exchange.

Donations will support the continuation of community music activities in Italy, to help reduce the negative impact of the displacement of people due to war and armed conflict.

The Dutch love Italian art, culture and cuisine. We enjoy it, also during our holidays. However, we do not experience the difficult conditions of refugees entering Europe via Italy, even when we are in Italy. That is why we ask for a contribution for the Welcome Notes program that contributes to the quality of life of refugees through workshops. Let’s support them with music!
